Koronadal Multi-Species Hatchery Continues its Distribution of Tilapia Broodstock and Fingerlings
The BFAR XII-Koronadal Multi-Species Hatchery continues its distribution of tilapia broodstock and fingerlings amidst covid19 pandemic. This to ensure continuous fishery production chain in areas of Region 12.
As of April 17, 2020, the hatchery distributed a total of 43,000 pcs Improved ExCEL (IE) 2016 Tilapia, 7,000 pcs Improved ExCEL 2016 Tilapia Broodstock, and 111,000 pcs Tilapia Fingerlings for Grow-out Culture.
Beneficiaries who have availed for the IE 2016 Tilapia Broodstock are fishfarmers and hatchery operators from the Province of South Cotabato, namely: LGU-Tampakan Tilapia Hatchery at Poblacion, Tampakan which received 10,000 pcs Set A and 1,000 pcs Set B; Mr. Edgar C. Tarroza of Barangay Dajay, Surallah, who received 13,000 pcs Set A and 6,000 pcs Set B; Ms. Cherry Mae M. Pajunting of Purok Mabini, Bgy. Dajay, Surallah, who received 10,000 pcs Set A; and Mr. Marciano L. Rodrigues, Jr.of Brgy. Reyes, Banga, who received 10,000 pcs Set A.
Ms. Zenaida A. Dangkalan, OIC of the BFAR XII-Koronadal Multi-Species Hatchery, assures the public that the hatchery will continue to supply fishfarmers with good quality broodstock and fingerlings. The BFAR XII-Koronadal Multi-Species Hatchery is under the Fisheries Production Divison headed by ARD Abdelnaser A. Tarabasa.
